Young people cannot attempt the learning
process in school unless their basic needs have been met. Clothing, shelter, food, love, and a sense of
belonging are all components of basic needs.
We can help meet these needs so that you as teachers can focus on their
education. Emotional balance is a major
goal for our program. Our collaborative
endeavors with your school will ensure that student’s basic needs are being met,
as well as their emotional health becoming more balanced in order to establish
a path that leads to personal and educational success.
School Based Counseling
School Based Counseling Services are
designed for students who have learning difficulties,
or for those that may find it difficult to maintain appropriate behavior while
attending classes. Rehabilitation counselors and licensed
therapists are available to see children and adolescents in the school setting
during and after the school day.
Adolescent Counseling:
It is our goal to provide the
adolescent with a method of assistance for behavior and attitude change in the
least restrictive setting possible. Our approach provides a safe, nurturing,
and therapeutic environment for an adolescent's special needs. Our goal for
adolescent clients (ages 13-17) is to help them move past developmental stage
issues, behavior problems and learning difficulties so that they might have an
increased possibility to grow to reach their full potential.
School Program:
School is extremely important to a
young person’s life and is important for teaching self-esteem and how to get
along with others. Our specially trained counselors and therapists work closely
with the student’s school and teachers to help maintain the socialization and
learning process. Clients and parents
are encouraged to maintain contact with our staff for as long as the need
remains.
Family Participation:
Parents and guardians are expected to
be actively involved in an adolescent's therapy. Any successful counseling
program must involve the family. Family members will be asked to be involved in
the assessment process, treatment planning, family therapy, family education,
discharge planning and other activities.
Family services are made available in the home, school or office.
Psychological Services:
Licensed, PhD psychologists are
available to provide complete psychological testing “on-site”. Testing may
include ADHD, OCD, RAD, IQ, Classroom abilities, etc.
